Eintracht Frankfurt and Werder Bremen will lock horns at the Deutsche Bank Park for their first meeting of the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign.
As of the time of writing, Frankfurt have garnered 17 points and they are placed third on the log after nine games played. Werder Bremen have 15 points from ten games and they stay in 8th position.
Frankfurt has been excellent in the Bundesliga this term and they are looking like one of the favorites for a place in Europe, probably the UEFA Champions League this time around. Marmoush Omar has been a revelation this term with 10 goals in his first nine league appearances for Die Adler. Werder Bremen has been decent in the opening nine league games of the season too. They have been a regular in mid-table in recent seasons and they will be aiming for a more respectable finish at the end of the campaign.
Frankfurt started the season with a 4-1 win over Braunschweig before a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund in their Bundesliga opener. However, four consecutive wins over Hoffenheim, Wolfsburg, Borussia Monchengladbach, and Kiel got them back on track and they have been steady since then. In between that winning run, they drew 3-3 with Plzen in their Europa League opener before a 3-1 win over Besiktas on match day two.
The biggest tests of the current season came in early October for Frankfurt. They first hosted Bayern Munich at home. Toppmoller Dino’s men fought hard against the Bavarian giants to wrestle a point. Omar scored twice, while Hugo Ekitike scored the other one. It was a fine performance but they could not repeat that against defending champions Bayer Leverkusen in the next league fixture which they lost 2-1.
Another win over RFS kept them going in the Europa League before a 1-1 draw against Union Berlin made it three games without a win for them in the Bundesliga. Despite that form, they still managed to progress in the DFB Pokal, beating Borussia 2-1 with 10 men. Die Adler eventually returned to winning ways in the Bundesliga with a 7-2 drubbing of Bochum. In the Europa League, a hard-fought 1-0 win over Slavia Prague kept them in the top four of the new format standings.
As for Werder Bremen, it has been a mixed season for them altogether. A 3-1 win over Cottbus to kick start things in the new DFB Pokal campaign. Their opening two games in the Bundesliga ended in stalemates – a 2-2 draw away at Augsburg and a goalless home draw against Borussia Dortmund. The first win of the season came in the 2-1 win over Mainz at the Mewa Arena. Marvi Ducksch scored the opener before it was canceled out by Lee Jae-Sung. Marco Friedl’s early second-half sending-off could not impede them as Derrick John scored the winner with 20 minutes to go.
Die Grün-Weißen were then thumped 5-0 by Bayern Munich in their next league fixture. The result of the season was secured at Hoffenheim when they came from three goals down to win 4-3. Jens Stage scored a hat-trick to lead Bremen to an excellent result against the ten men of the home side. It became back-to-back home losses when Freiburg beat them 1-0. While home form is not great, Bremen continued to enjoy wins on the road as they beat Wolfsburg 4-2. In the next three league games, Bremen drew with Leverkusen, lost to Monchengladbach, and beat Kiel.
Bremen have not beaten Frankfurt since 2021. Meanwhile, the past two meetings have ended in draws, and things are expected to be different this time around. Between 2010 and 2024, Bremen has only won once at Frankfurt. It is a fixture that has produced a lot of stalemates and another one here might not be surprising.
Frankfurt and Werder Bremen have met 37 times since 2003. Frankfurt have won 14 times, Werder Bremen have won 13 times and the remaining 10 meetings have ended in draws.

Frankfurt are strong at home. At the time of writing, they are unbeaten at home this season, as they have won six of their eight games in all competitions there. This is also to emphasize their strong form at home in this particular fixture with Bremen. To catch this fixture, it is advised that you get Frankfurt tickets on time.
On the other hand, Werder Bremen have one of the best away forms in the Bundesliga at the moment. Only Bayern Munich have garnered more points than Die Grün-Weißen (10) on the road this season.
